Enhancing Sustainable Cocoa Production and Food Security in Côte d'Ivoire

Description

Ecotop Suisse has been commissioned by CABOZ to provide consultancy services aimed at enhancing sustainable cocoa production and improving food security within CABOZ’s supply chain. With a strong focus on cocoa farming, CABOZ aims to diversify agricultural practices, restore degraded landscapes, and promote sustainable cocoa production methods.

Through the implementation of innovative and sustainable farming techniques, such as Dynamic Agroforestry, Ecotop aims to increase productivity and income for CABOZ’s cocoa farmers while preserving the environment. The project also encourages crop diversification and the adoption of practices to improve soil health, thereby enhancing food security among local communities.

A key objective of the project is the restoration of degraded landscapes through reforestation efforts, agroforestry interventions, and land restoration techniques. These initiatives aim to improve biodiversity and ecosystem services. Farmers will receive comprehensive training and technical assistance, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable agriculture and business management.

Community engagement is a crucial aspect of the project, fostering collaboration through the establishment of farmer committees and participatory decision-making processes. By leveraging the expertise and resources of Ecotop and CABOZ, the project seeks to create a positive and long-lasting impact on the livelihoods of cocoa farmers and the overall resilience of agricultural systems.
